3 VE 8-60s & 3 different acoustical valve situations
Wanted to take photos of my 9-40 and Bothia II acoustical valves but the machines are to hard to access right now, but will soon. So instead I am showing the status of my 8-60s valves. The first one has a frozen valve, missing gears and has the electro dynamic horn driver (yet to be tested). The second is mounted backwards with the right side on the left, is frozen, missing gears, and has no horn driver. The third has a functioning valve and the early little horn driver added (also not tested). Planning within next couple years to get these babies mechanically and electrically up to par. If you have spares, I certainly could use them. Otherwise, good luck on your projects. -Wayne

Both of those are the late pattern of valve. The earlier pattern was smaller; the rotating section was perpendicular to the axis of the horn throat, and the system used little 1:1 bevel gears to actuate the rotor. I have only found these early units on low serial number Borgia I and II machines. Highest serial number that I know of with this valve being Borgia I No. 1111
