SOLD: Columbia Cylinder Player - INQUIRE
Not being knowledgeable of Columbia Cylinder machines , I must defer to others experience on the matter ....Pictured is a machine owned by a friend of mine , in an economic pinch , who want's it sold ...it has been restored , cosmetically at least sometime in the past ...the horn appears to be a reproduction ....any reasonable offer will be considered , and any information on this type of machine would be welcome as well... thanks .....Steve

Re: For Sale Columbia Cylinder Player inquire
That is a Columbia BQT that is missing the rear mount horn. Here's an example taken off of Google images of what it looks like complete.

Re: For Sale Columbia Cylinder Player inquire
The one listed is a BK. If there are holes in the back of the case, then it would be a BKT. The BK and BKT has a slanted carriage, whereas the BQ Rex has the horizontal carriage.

Maybe I'm missing something, but both machines pictured look like BQ/Ts to me...

I'm not well versed in the off brands, (like Columbia & Victor, Silvertone etcetera) but if I recall correctly the BK is a front mount, straight horn cylinder machine, the BKT is exactly the same with back bracket and side mount carriage and the BQ is again exactly the same case, same works, top mount carriage.phonogfp wrote:Maybe I'm missing something, but both machines pictured look like BQ/Ts to me...![]()

That's my understanding as well. But I don't see any 45-degree "slanted" carriages (BK/T) in this thread - - only "top mount," "horizontal" carriages (BQ/T).Valecnik wrote:I'm not well versed in the off brands, (like Columbia & Victor, Silvertone etcetera) but if I recall correctly the BK is a front mount, straight horn cylinder machine, the BKT is exactly the same with back bracket and side mount carriage and the BQ is again exactly the same case, same works, top mount carriage.phonogfp wrote:Maybe I'm missing something, but both machines pictured look like BQ/Ts to me...![]()

By the way, I like your examples of "off brands..."!

I wonder if rear horn support holes are present in the rear of the case?

Thanks George. I always strive to be clear in my communications so it made sense to be totally clear on the "hobby standard" for off brands!phonogfp wrote:Valecnik wrote:phonogfp wrote:Maybe I'm missing something, but both machines pictured look like BQ/Ts to me...![]()
