Another suggestion for your new acquisition if you value your records, Audiophile. Those individual slots were a bad idea to begin with and worse now as they have tended to warp over time. The wood grinds against the record every time you slide it in/out. New sleeves in antique green covered with poly covers fit perfectly. Tight but the records slide in and out without damage. Of course you need to clip the bottom corners.audiophile102 wrote:I don't have a 12 inch record for the Edison so I took one from my Sonora and as you can see the drawers accommodate the records quite nicely. There is plenty of clearance when the bottom drawer is closed. I took the drawers out of the cabinet when I was cleaning the machine. The drawers are attached to the wood rails with wood screws that are hard to remove. Once removed I found 100 years of dirt inside. Cleaning the drawers and slats was the same. So much dirt. One of the stop pegs on the sliders was broken off so I made a new one. Worked great. I'm all finished cleaning it and I'm looking forward to filling both drawers with diamond disk records. I need records for my Sonora too. I like Jazz and that might be harder to find for the Edison. Once again, thanks for your interest.

audiophile102,
I wonder if you could look for a number on the horn at the seams for me? There should be one stamped into the metal at the joint just below the motor.
My apologies if you've already done this and I've missed the post.
Best,
Fran
