Original Victor Phonograph AUXETOPHONE Real Picture Post Card! (RPPC) Stunning!
Just click the above link!
It's worth it just to look at this card!!! It is really amazing. It is the "real McCoy." A knowledgeable post card collector has told me that the "azo" stamp box on the back of the card dates the card between 1904 to 1918. This is correct for the manufacturing date of the AUXETOPHONE.
Enjoy!!!

I seem to remember seeing this picture, or one very much like it, on another thread.
The machine appears to have been installed in a private motor yacht, presumably equipped with the necessary power supply for the compressor. Why would anyone want such a loud machine in such a confined space, except for possible emergency use as a foghorn?

You are correct! You have seen this before. I had "teased" it prior to putting it up on ebay some weeks ago. The question that I had that we never really got an answer to, was what about the horn? What is it made out of?

In the UK the standard Auxetophone horn was brass, but Flaxite (which I understand was a type of compressed fibre) was also available. I think that is what we have here.

Looks like its on a boat?
Horn - smooth wood horn? Too thick & polished for flaxite.

Apparently, whoever had this was ahead of his time... similar to the people who are installing huge stereo systems in small cars.epigramophone wrote: Why would anyone want such a loud machine in such a confined space, except for possible emergency use as a foghorn?
