Phonograph Table Stand

Post by zapper »

Hi All
Can anyone help me identify the stand. It arrived very rusty, but I can tell that it is steel with a brass collar, which should have a locking screw to fix the height.I also think there may have been some 'feet'
Thanks

I have a catalog here from the UK that shows this style stand but I am not sure who the maker is. I have one of these stands and know of another collector here in the us that also has one. I will let you know when I find my catalog if it lists the maker. Good find.......Steve

That looks suspiciously like a bird cage stand

That style of table crane is shown in the phonograph accessories catalog of the Chas. Begg & Co Ltd London. It was available in bronze, or all nickel. Hope this info helps. Steve

Thanks for your help Stephen
When I was cleaning it I noticed what could be some bronze finish under the base.
