New Heineman Parts

Post by Victrolacollector »

Have any of our forum members made any attempts or thought of making NEW governor springs for the Heinemann Junior, Flyer or double spring motors?

Would be nice to see some new gears cut for these machines? Including the bottom plates which have bearing holes that are often worn out.

Bearing plates with worn holes may be able to have them drilled over-size, and a brass bushing installed.

This technique is occasionally used in clock restoration, where "plate motor" construction is common.

It is a labor-intensive process though, and there's always the question of whether the article in question is "worth the investment".

In some cases, the answer is "yes".
