Re: Wanted: Edison Diamond Disk Gold Turntable
The proper color felt for an oak DD of that period would be either light brown (for 'golden oak') or dark brown (for 'dark oak').

Any idea where the light brown felt may be available for the golden oak? Sitko does not carry that color.

Lucius1958 (Bill),
What color turntable and grill covers would be appropriate for an Oak C 19 or a Mahogany C 250?
Thanks,
John

Re: WANTED: Edison Diamond Disk Gold Turntable
According to Frow, Edison standardized green felt for the C series turntables in 1915; but burnt orange felt shows up in some machines from the '20s. It depends how late your C19 is.
As for grille cloth: generally oak cases used a brownish-gold, while mahogany cases used a greenish-gold (although some mahogany cases may have used a sort of rose color). If you look very carefully at the inside of a grille, you can sometimes see traces of the original cloth, and work from there.
BTW, you might try checking around fabric stores for wool felt: you may find a shade that looks acceptable.

You're welcome John, and I apologize to the OP for pirating his post. It was unintentional, maybe I should have started my own post. When I started writing it this morning, I didn't realize how long-winded it was going to end up being.
Best,
Fran
