Tip on Replacing Turntable Felt

For years I have peeled off the old felt and then scraped or sanded off the glue residue. Recently I tried soaking the old felt with paint remover for a few minutes. Th remover will soak through the felt and dissolve the old glue. Just peel it off and rinse....no more scraping or sanding. Plus it will not harm the plating. Obviously do this with the turntable removed from your machine.

Great tip Jerry, thank you. The felt on my Edison and Sonora are looking pretty beat up. Was green felt the only color used when the machines were made?

Great tip. I like that. I'll do that the next time I have to remove turn table felt.

I don't know about the Sonora, but Edison went through some changes with felt color over the years.

Most Sonoras I've seen have a dark red felt. The Elite I have has this color also.
