My prize from the APS sale

Post by Jerry B. »

Here are photos of the machine I brought back from the APS show last weekend. It's a little Gramophone & Typewriter machine that was made about the time of the Victor C. I love the workmanship and detail of the cabinet. Jerry Blais

That's really interesting, Jerry.

A very handsome little machine and probably quite rare in the US. Congratulations!

Jerry,

I love it! Looks like a highly decorated ERJ Type "C".

Very nice, Jerry! I really like the raised panels on the sides. It was nice seeing you at the show!

Nice, Jerry! :)

I limit my collecting to U.S. machines (well, almost), but that's one that could cause me to break my self-imposed limit. A beautiful little Gramophone.

Congratulations!

Beautiful machine. I'm sure that you will enjoy it for many years to come. It has lots of class. Can you show the bottom where it says made in USA?

Known as the Style No.6, this model was available from late 1900 to early 1905.

It was one of the first machines with a motor which could be wound whilst playing.

A very rare find so far from it's original home. Congratulations!

I doubt it'd be in that good a condition had it spent more time over here! Fabulous machine in a condition we can only dream of finding machines here. Of course, to be pedantic, it's technically not a G & T machine but a "Gramophone Company" Style No. 6, as it predates the name change to "...& Typewriter Company".
