What makes this oxidized DD reproducer so special for such high price?? Ok, I see the volume control nub but that's not the reason I guess...

Re: Edison oxidized DD reproducer
The oxidized DD reproducer was only ever made for the A-150 model. Only the earliest of these had the volume control. This is a rare reproducer in excellent condition.

Thanks. I saw one sold for $50 without volume control and one with volume control but in nickel for around $40. That's really a big difference.

Selling for that price is just a fluke. They are rarer than the gold or nickel variety but also only correct for the A-150. That volume control makes it rarer but noticeably dampen the sound, even when fully open.
