Just saw this "deal" on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-ANTIQUE ... 4af00be6d8
I really don't know what goes through some peoples minds when they post things on ebay.
What do some sellers think?

I think that has been on and off ebay for the last 5 years. It has come down in price, originally it was $3500. Has been discussed here as well several times. I don't have to understand it and it doesn't even bother me anymore.

Re: What do some sellers think?
I have been tempted to reply to similar ebay or craigslist items but have not. Sellers are entitled to price their items for whatever they please in hopes of someone making an impulse purchase or a purchase made from complete ignorance. I suppose there are suckers out there.
If I go to a sale and I see something outrageously priced such as a phonograph, where I am knowledgable about values, I assume other items are equally overpriced. This may or may not be true but I am less likely to make an impulse purchase. I am a seller at Union and APS and try to price things fairly so I don't scare away a prospective buyer for this reason.

Shameless hucksterism.
Take a look at the seller's feed-back... less than perfect.
There have always been people trying to hawk mediocre goods at sky-high prices, even before the days of e-bay.
Caveat emptor.
