Viva-tonal Model 109 on Portland, OR Craigslist- $250
I saw a Viva-tonal Model109 on Portland, Oregon craigslist and the price was $250. It's not my area of interest so I'm not sure if that's high or low but it looked like an interesting machine. Do a search for "gramophone" and you'll find it. Jerry Blais

Interesting looking machine. Is that a UK model?

No, definitely not a UK model, The UK 109 was a portable. The arm on this one looks like that on the US Columbia portables, as does the speed control. I suggest it's assembled in Japan, as the metal ID tag is the same as the ones on my Japanese-made Columbia portables.

Indeed it is made in Japan, I have one identical. It was also sold as Napoleon brand.Phono48 wrote: I suggest it's assembled in Japan, as the metal ID tag is the same as the ones on my Japanese-made Columbia portables.
