Edison Painted Horns

The painted straight horn on the Standard E was offered mainly by the Babson Brothers mail order extravaganzas. The company made it available to the dealers so that they could supply it if a customer asked, but they didn't push it. There is an item mentioning this in one of the 1911 or 12 Edison Phonograph Monthly magazines.

Wasn't there also an Edison Standard morning glory horn that came painted blue, without flowers, from the factory?

I've got one someplace and will see if I can dig it out for any more details.

Good friend and fellow phono nerd, Stan Stanford, recently bought a Fireside with the Edison Standard blue flowered horn. It came with a standard footed crane as well as a second foot that mounted on the same side but other end of the cabinet. The second foot did not have a hole for the vertical rod. It was simply an anti tipping food to help prevent the whole outfit from tipping over. It was really quite interesting and would have been much easier to describe with a photo. Jerry B.
