I have a key-wound Model A that is giving me problems with the 4 min. mode.It plays 2 min fine in the 2 min. setting. When I flip the gears forward to the 4 min mode, it doesn't play right. It stays in the 2 min. mode. All the gears turn and mesh. I have a 2/4 min. B & C Gem, and the gearing is perfect on both speeds. Does anybody else have this problem?

I found the solution to the problem thanks to Jerry B. 
When you flip the gears you have to make sure the pin with the knurled knob is pushed in for 4 min. For 2 min, the gears have to be flipped back and the knurled knob has to be pushed out. Thanks Jerry
