These are extremely rare, since most of them burned up when new:

I fear way too many machines ended their existence as Fireplace players.

This is the rare Fireplace player.
It was a very rare and obscure phonograph designed to be placed in the fireplace.
The walls of the fireplace will allow sound of horn to reflect off of the walls, for that extra sound.
Also, the fireplace will take care of the solution for those pesky horns and create an internal horn effect!!

In the description they say Fireside. I am sure the title was auto correct.

Ah, yes, the elusive coal-burning phonograph! They were meant to function as a musical space heater, but the carbon monoxide coming out of the horn with the smoke was found to put a damper on dance parties. Haven't seen one of these in centuries.

The electric Fireplaces were very popular: the spring motor versions didn't sell well, and are extremely rare today.edisonplayer wrote:I didn't know Edison made fireplaces!! :lol:edisonplayer
