I am looking for a very excellent condition (rebuilt or not) later model HMV Exhibition reproducer. This is the model that reads "His Master's Voice - Exhibition - Made in England".
Thanks!
Bobby

Re: WANTED: Later HMV Exhibition Soundbox
Bobby, Does your machine have a male or female crank? Does the elbow have slot cut on the top or bottom? Is it a slip in type? There are two types of the later reproducer. There is the kind with the round needle hole and the later one with the triangular needle hole. If yours is the very late machine, 1920's on, then an HMV No.2 reproducer is correct. Also correct, the HMV No.4 reproducer is correct as an upgrade. If you can post a picture of the machine, I can help you narrow it down to the correct reproducer.

Re: WANTED: Later HMV Exhibition Soundbox
It's a c1921 HMV GFO/Model 26. Same as a Victor XXV Schoolhouse. Same tonearm. 'His Master's Gramophone' lists the correct soundbox as the Exhibition (1920-21) and #2 (1922-23). I was told by a collector in the UK that the "His Master's Voice - Exhibition - Made in England" labeled one was the correct one for my machine. I had no idea there were two of that sort.Phonofreak wrote:Bobby, Does your machine have a male or female crank? Does the elbow have slot cut on the top or bottom? Is it a slip in type? Male crank. No slot, slip in type. It's an exported Victor tonearm/HMV#26 motor which I think was an imported Victor as well.
I have pics posted in the British Subforum.
