7. und 08. November 2015. Communication this year seems very "thin"
Saw it here

this site has same date - just as double-check

Thanks, that must be it then. Still it's confusing. The 78 record link says "First Sunday in November" which is November 1st but goes to give the specific dates as November 7 & 8.US PHONO wrote:7. und 08. November 2015. Communication this year seems very "thin"

Siegfried's museum site says "first weekend in November". Well the first Sunday is Nov. 1 but the first full weekend is 7 & 8. Preponderance of evidence indicates 7 & 8 though.

Re: Rüdesheim Show Autumn 2016
Just found the photo of a sign saying, it's Nov ⅞.
This is the most severe problem this 'show' has always suffered from, it has become almost a trademark for them. Never expect to have anyone getting back to you, in case you have a question about this show. Just to get the very basic info, you usually have to know someone who knows someone. Last time I had about three completely different versions about car park options.
It is just one of the reasons why I won't be around this time. Too much strain for too little fun. Last show was pretty awful as they have moved everything into that old liquor factory building with a charm of a freezing slaughterhouse. Plus there have been always strange incidents with extremely rude local people on the street. I witnessed some of them myself. This area lives from tourism but given that, I will rather spend my money at the next Wayne show.
Here are some photos from last March, they surely speak for themselves.

This is sad, it is the only regular European specialty fair outside England. I've been there twice some years ago, both in the spring events, and it was quite lively, with transactions in the parking lot and in the grounds of the fair, and a lot of variety, albeit with very few bargains. I bought a very nice Pathé Jeunesse at the time, at a decent price, and remember seeing a large number of German HMVs, some phonographs including a huge Columbia (at a huge price), some cabinet gramophones and loads of records. These photos show something completely different, unfortunately.

To add to (or perhaps explain?) the possible misunderstanding, in Europe the week begins with Monday, not Sunday. At least, that's the way their calendars are formatted, IIRC.Valecnik wrote:Thanks, that must be it then. Still it's confusing. Not much there and it looks freezing. Still I think I will go, be optimistic and hope it's better this time around. Sorry you won't be there Norman. Socializing with friends and collectors is more than half the fun!
