The regular spindle AU is less common. I have seen less AU's than AA Standards. On the AU, make sure the reproducer is marked. These machines came out in 1904, so they would have the Analyzing reproducer with the 1886 markings. The later ones will have the 1905 markings. The AA Standards will have an unmarked reproducer.

(WARNING: Grammar Nazi alert)
While it is true that there is less of the AU than the AA, because of the extra mass in the Standard spindle, there were also fewer of the AUs sold...
We now return you to your normal thread.

Sorry: I was being a bit snarky about English grammar.columbia1spring wrote:If theres a joke or poking fun, I don't get it....

Less: used of amounts that are considered en masse, such as volume, weight, length, etc.
Fewer: used of items that can be considered as separate units, such as people, animals, phonographs, etc.

I was having fun with your and you're. People often use "your" when they should be using "you're".
you are = you're

Less - a smaller quantity of something that cannot be counted I.e. There is less water in the Atlantic than the Pacific
