Bob, can you tell us the source that states the machine was gold plated..??.

I don't know, I was just going by what I remembered reading years ago.
The picture is from "The Story of Nipper" and is in B&W, so I guess we'll never know?

I asked because friends that were there and saw the TM told me it was just a regular "late" UK TM and no mention of gold plating. As far as I know....the gold plated TM in question is the only one gold plated.

Mind you, I guess anyone could have one made (like the Gem)...

I own the "The Story Of Nipper And The His Master's Voice"".....great little book. Mine is signed by (the now late) Phillip Barraud the Grandson of the creator. Kind of a interesting.. :).
