Question on Diamond Disc "takes"

Edison's initial practice with Diamond Discs was to record three acceptable takes (A, B, and C), all of which were (usually) released. I have found a lot of later discs recently, and in the few instances where I have seen multiple copies, they all seem to have the same take. For example, I have never seen a "Rhapsody in Blue" (52145, 1927) that didn't have take "B" on both sides.

Does anyone know when or even "if" the policy officially changed to release only one take?

Edison originally insisted on 3 good takes for the Diamond Discs.Later,after he was no longer involved in the phonograph records(and with low sales by the time "Rhapsody In Blue" was issued)the Edison company issued only one.edisonplayer

True enough, but I was hoping for something more specific, at least narrowing it down to a year or 2. Anyone have more info?
