The science teacher at the elementary school where I work wanted a Victrola to help teach several science concepts. So, here is the school's Victrola VI being demonstrated to Fifth Grade Students. Concepts including gravity, mechanical energy, vibration of sound, friction, and a little history made it a great lesson.
Some Edison records were shown to teach various recording methods, but Victor records were used on the Victrola. An experiment was also conducted to test the sound quality of various types of needles.
The lesson was taught four times to a total of about 100 students. A follow-up homework assignment was given to write a summary paragraph of the lesson.
Yes, the Victrola is still educating young people.

A terrific thing for young folks that today probably don't remember CDs let alone records. Thanks for the post. It may encourage a few new future collectors!
