Yes, thank you Stephan. As Steve wrote... one day we may find out for sure. I can add that there are absolutely no marking anywhere on my stand (other than the medallion). Interestingly, there is a hidden compartment in the bottom. You can unscrew a square thin wood panel on the bottom, revealing a rather large void. Great for hiding things of value... ;).
I have also seen at least two types of interior design used in these cabinets.

Steve, if you contact John Duffy on this forum....I think he had a mahogany version at one time.
Maybe, he can send you a photo.
