I hope he sold you also the elbow, the schoolhouse uses a unique large diameter attachment, as far as I am aware was only used on the schoolhouse, the HMV32 and its sister colonials 29 and 31, which are almost as sparse as the HMV schoolhouse.

The Schoolhouse model does share the same elbow as those other models you mentioned and also the HMV 25 of course. It is a fairly typical "standard" drop-in type elbow and is also found on various Victor models. I'm not certain what you meant by "unique large diameter attachment" though?

I doubt this horn will be supplied with any elbow, let alone the RIGHT elbow!

Steve, the large diameter I refer to is the vertical part of the elbow that drops in the part that holds the tone arm, it is wider than in the monarchs (granted, monarchs have also a different fitting and are not drop-in), and I am not sure if you can find these in Victors other than the schoolhouse model. My HMV33 has the right horn, but the wrong elbow, and I have not found a correct one yet, after some years. I can use it by wrapping teflon tape around it so it snugs in the tube, but it is not a fully satisfactory solution, and I keep on looking for a correct replacement. This is one case in which I did not hesitate much to drive 8 hours to Nantes to buy a flawed machine, after all it is in working condition and I have not seen another for sale before or since I bought it. However I fully agree with both of you on not letting the opportunity pass to get the right missing part, it may never come again.

I believe I have the correct elbow. It fits perfectly within the mounting bracket and has an adaptor to fit the Vic XXV Schoolhouse wood horn I bought the machine with. I should be good in that regard. Hopefully.....
