WANTED: Edison 2 minute recorder

Ben,
Keep a look out on ebay. They show up often for around 100.00. Just make sure the cutter is there. I did a quick search and found this one.

That one appears to be a good, one, the copper holders are more hearty than aluminum holders. It does appear the wax seal around the outside may need resealed, using a alcohol burner and a thin artists spatula. A drop or two of stratina or shellac on the stylus holder at the back and wings. That pretty much is it. Carefully clean the area where the tube goes up and down with mineral spirits, or camp fuel using a few cotton swabs.

I had seen that recorder and am am watching it; I do keep my eyes open for recorders on eBay, but I was just going to check with you here first to see if any of you have an “extra”. Thanks for you help.
