VV-XVII Walnut

Post by DGPros »

I found this on craigslist last night and picked it up this morning. She has a long way to go, but coming along well, after a long day of breaking down and cleaning. There are a few missing parts, like the back door hatch, hardware, binders and a few other small items. She should match up nice with my mahogany XVII. The walnut is in a little worse shape when I found her, but not much. Of course it's speckled with paint, grit and grime, but isn't that half the fun, bringing them back :D . I believe it's walnut.

Thanks, I thought so too. It was on craigslist for 16 days asking $200,I hadn't looked in awhile and was shocked no one had picked it up. Yes it was mangy looking, but well worth taking a shot for that price. Looks like I found my winter project after all. ;)

I'm happy to know that such a fine cabinet will be saved. The walnut machines are quite beautiful. Please update this post with your progress.

Thanks Gene, she's cleaning up nice. The camera makes it look different, but the color is the same. I have found matching numbers on all four doors. Is there any other place that may have these numbers? I haven't touched the bed plate yet, other than a wipe down.
