I have a couple questions regarding the Victrola #2 reproducer boxes. First, the printing found on the lids.
The box made for nickel reproducers have a "NB". I have always assumed this was for "Nickel Body".
Yet, the box made for gold reproducers have "GA" on the lid. Is this for "Gold Antiqued"..??.
Last, what is the channel that runs across the inside of these Victrola #2 boxes ?. At one time I assumed it was for the V key. However, that doesn't fit with the reproducer in place.
So, what is this channel (runs side to side) for,if anything..??.

Re: Victrola #2 Reproducer Boxes
If GA = Gold Antique finish,
Could NB = Nickel Bright finish?
I'm guessing that the channel might have held some sort of spacer to help hold the reproducer in place.

I always let the needle bar rest in the space, never thought of anything securing it in place--which maybe the reason for the channel? Good Question.
