Very many thanks Garret for alerting us to this new link to the "Bible" for our interest.

This essential, extensively researched and well written, book was a rare resource to find before the popularity of the internet and has always been expensive to buy. We are privileged indeed to be able to read it for nothing but let not this fact detract from the enormous achievement of the authors in giving us all a hugely valuable grounding in our subject. This is the book from which all others flowed..........

By the way it is marked on archive.org as "public domain", but actually it isn't.
