Brief tour of the Music Room

Post by Valecnik »

Well it has to be a brief tour because it's pretty small. In addition to what you see there's another entertainment center accomodating a couple hundred diamond discs, 78s and a modern electric turntable powered by the Fisher 500C tube amp circa 1964.

You might recognize that some of the artworks are Andersun's excellent canvas pieces that I've had mounted in period frames. It's not big but a nice place to hang out. :monkey:

Bruce, that's a very inviting space that looks very relaxing to work or play in!

Ditto!

Is the oak Amberola a 1A? I can't quite make it out, but the mandrel would suggest so. Either two 1Bs or one of each is a treat! :)

Your "tour" of your phono area back in the U.S. would require a little longer!

Thanks for sharing, Bruce.

Cylinder cabinet mounted on the wall - so gauche. Cylinders are always stored upright.

George yes, the oak one is a 1A and yes the U.S. "tour" would require more time and everything would be noticeably very much less organized.

Well no house can be a real home without the capability to play a wide variety records in the living room so let's do a quick tour there too.

Leaving the music room, firstly we pass through the hallway equipped with an analog clock and some additional auxiliary lighting.

Then stepping into the living room you'll see we're equipped to play lateral & Pathé discs (with Pathé adapter) on the Victor V, 2&4 minute cylinders of most types on the Triumph and of course Diamond Discs. :D

And finally here's the Triumph ready to play Christmas records. The photo is actually from last Christmas as we don't normally have our tree up until a couple days before.
