acoustic phono in "stereo" ?

Came across this phono on craigslist and thought it was worth a mention.

Never heard of this brand "Hunt-O-Phonic"... but look at that picture showing the horn.

It looks like it's separated into a left and right side... or perhaps stereo channels?

Obviously, not true stereo... so I wonder what the purpose was. ...an "orthophonic" horn squeezed sideways into a "standard" sized machine?

It's some sort of orthophonic knock-off. The horn is all one horn, actually a folded one from the looks of it, much like that of a VV 4-7, for example.

I'm wondering how they got away with what looks to be Western Electric horn design?

I suspect it isn't really a folded horn- bet that it's more like two horns curving around that central object but designed to look like the real thing from the front.

It looks more like a Columbia clone than a Victor / Western Electric one to me? Columbia produced a "bi-furcated" horn that looks very similar to that and it was available on fairly common table top machines too.
