US OPERA

Post by ambrola »

I was told today that a guy was attempting to make the feed screws by using a 3d printer. Not for the purist, but might get a few machines back to playing. Fingers crossed for the guys that have them and me for finding another one that's broken.

Do you mean the actual feed screw itself? As in, the threaded shaft? I seriously doubt such a thing can be made on a 3D printer. Now, some of the carriage pieces may be possible.

As I understand it yes. These new 3D printers are amazing. Just Google it and there should be some info.

Any recommendations for someone that does 3D printing? I have a few parts I would like to see about replicating

Thanks

Hi Joe,
There's a lot on the web. You just need to Google it like I did.

Why can't I embed the video? I did it just as the tutorial says?

There was a post here a year or longer ago where a member shared how he used a 3d printing service to have a tonearm part replicated. Don't have time to search right now...

Hi Ronnie
Are you referring to Edison Home/Triumph feed screws? I would not think that a 3D printer is not articulate enough to produce the 100TPI buttress thread on an Edison feed screw.

Hi Paul,
I am talking about the US Opera feed screw. Nice talking to you today. BTW: I guess they did take the add down. I had put to auction on it.
