Yes, very nice. Researching the history of the phonograph adds to the fun. Start your search in the forum and then search the web. The more you read about phonographs, the greater will be your appreciation. Check out this site right now. Tons of interesting information. http://www.victor-victrola.com/product% ... mation.htm Here is a thread about suggested books you might find interesting. http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =8&t=20350FloridaClay wrote:Congratulations! Congratulations, Steve!
As mentioned earlier, a well-preserved Victrola - especially the earlier designs like yours - have a certain appeal.
A collector friend has a XVI just like yours in his dining room. I admire it whenever I'm there. The first phonograph I ever purchased was this model Victrola (I've owned it for 48 years now), so they have a special place in my heart.
In case you haven't seen them yet, there are a number of interesting articles on the Antiquen Phonograph Society web site. Here's a particularly informative one:

Enjoy those Grand Prize Victors and the magic your mahogany time machine.

And he still loves it, too (despite going bonkers over Edison Diamond Disc Phonographs).phonogfp wrote:Congratulations, Steve!![]()

It was my very first Victrola and the second real "Talking Machine" I had ever owned. It set me in motion on a path that I will travel down for the rest of my life!
Congratulations, Stan, you have a very handsome machine there! What a Merry Christmas it must be.
Best,
Fran
