This is a fraudulent listing. Many European collectors are aware of this scam listing.
The machine sold for far more than this a while ago during the "real" sale.

And I thought to do well!

I will contact eBay by phone in a few hours to report the scam.
I am a collector of old phones and this type of scam is zhere ultra known.

In the field of phonographs, I am a true beginner, I apologize.

Hello Gramophone78 ;)

Well done. You were absolutely right, it is a scam. I did a quick google on a phrase from the auction description.

I found this:

16 avr. 2014 19:43:27 Paris - sold for 18 100,00 EUR http://www.ebay.fr/itm/PHONOGRAPHE-ELEC ... 1446883890

Actually http://www.ebay.fr/itm/PHONOGRAPHE-ELEC ... 41a16acfd1

I contacted eBay France this morning and I reported them this scam (via Internet and telephone). It remains to hope that they will take my report seriously.

I contacted the seller questioning the legitimacy of this auction and was informed it was totally genuine.
I have just recieved this reply from Ebay today.

"We think eBay account henriphone has been used without the account owner's permission, so we're now restoring it to them. To protect this member's privacy, we can't share any more details about their account.

People sometimes misuse eBay accounts by sending emails from them. In these emails, they invite you to buy or sell outside eBay, or ask questions that have nothing to do with eBay. They do this in the hope that you'll respond and give them your email address.

We strongly recommend you treat emails from this member with caution and don't respond if you hear from them again."

Regards,
Alistair.

Ask the seller to send a photo showing something not revealed in the present pictures. Maybe a bottom view. If they can't do it, they don't have it to sell, i.e. scam. If they won't do it, they're too hard to deal with anyway.
