Hi- just catching up on neat songs. The Comedian Harmonists did a nice version in German as well- it is featured in a biography movie "Comedian Harmonists" - can sometimes find it in the foreign section of a video store. Neat movie as it uses the original music with the actors lip-synching the complex "instrumentation" (the Harmonists mimicked various brass instruments, etc.) Here is a copy of the song with pic of the group on youtube:
