hmm: I got a phono from Guido some years ago, and he included a "sapphire" ... now I wonder if that's glass. I will be sure to use another one, in the future.

If you've played records with it check it with a loupe- any pronounced wear means its glass.

I needed a Pathé Sapphire for my Brunswick phonograph and a board member told me not to buy a glass one. I was going to buy one on ebay but Guido informed me when I asked if it was glass and he told me yes. Now possibly he is out and going to buy the sapphire instead of glass. I think Guido is a very honest person.
