Adjusting a Early Victor Motor
I lubed the springs in my early VV-XI motor. When I put it back together, it seemed the motor would bind up here and there. I backed out the side screw by the mainspring end clamp (opposite of winding and drive gears), and it seems to not be binding. Is that the purpose of the screws on the clamp end of the spring barrels?

Re: Adjusting a Early Victor Motor
I had the exact same issue on my table top VV-X. After cleaning and lubricating everything and putting it back together it did not move at all. I backed out that end screw a little and everything started working. It still puzzles me, it is all steel and iron, how can it expand when disassembled? But hey, it works.
