I always wondered why Brunswick made the reproducer face the wrong way for the panatrope.

What a great machine and fun record! I have only a Brunswick Panatrope 106 portable, but I did have a "Cortez experience" earlier this year. I just looked at your YouTube videos and left the following comments: Excellent sound quality! And I love the look of the room. Such warmth & comfort in that space. The mortuary that cremated my mother in March had a Cortez in their main viewing room. My brother and I picked this place from a friend's recommendation, & when the owner gave us a tour of his facility I stopped in my tracks when I saw the Brunswick. I turned to my brother and said "This is the hand of Fate. We're going with this guy!" When we came back the next day to make arrangements the man told us that a family had given him their mother's Brunswick and walnut buffet table in addition to his (pretty economical) fee because he did such a good job and was so decent with them. He then brought ought a box of 78s & we listened to music for half an hour. A most gregarious, comfortable, decent personality the man has. To have gone through our big loss while having everything handled so well AND the surprise of the Brunswick (and story) was actually a mellowing, calming experience. So! Back to the music!
