FOR SALE Columbia Regent Desk Phonograph $575

Post by brianu »

I was thrilled to find this machine nearby about a year ago - they're so big that transport can be prohibitive... they're also so big that sufficient space can be tough to find, and because of that this machine has just been sitting in a storage area of the house and I can't see a time when it won't be, so I'm figuring I may as well let it go.

I'll post some photos when I can take them, but this is the mahogany Columbia Regent, the desk-styled phonograph from the company's furniture-looking line of machines. everything's original and the finish is in very nice shape barring some typical surface wear. I haven't done much at all to this, and I'm certain it will clean up beautifully. the motor runs extremely well, I had Steve Medved rebuild the reproducer for me, and there are no pot metal issues with the arm and support elbow, which are completely intact and move freely. on one side of the desk. you pull out a drawer to expose the playing area, on the opposite side are two doors that conceal the horn... and note, these are doors not louvers, so this is an early model that predates all the litigation with victor over the volume control methods.

this is located in southern NJ just outside Philadelphia PA and I'd like $575 for it... if you'd like to see it or have any questions, send me a message or email brianu73 at hotmail. again, I'll post some photos as soon as I get a chance to take them.
