Although Jack Smith, the „Whispering Baritone“ made most of his recordings between 1925 and 1927 in New York for Victor, he sold very, very well in Europe on the sister Labels HMV and Electrola in Germany. As a result Smith spend the year 1928 in Europe (1930 a second time), and made recordings in London and Berlin. Especially in Germany he had been very favored, and he influenced with his appearance and records a lot of other recording artists.
