This came with a bunch of phono stuff a few weeks ago. One piece is wood and the other is the actual casting. Can anyone help identify the part?
Thanks, Jerry Blais
Anyone recognize this part?

It looks so familiar. For some reason I'm visualizing under the bedplate of a Type N Graphophone . . . something to do with the brake?

Or maybe I'm picturing that little L-shaped part on the brake of a Triton spring-motor?

What size is it? Can you picture it next to coin or bill for reference?

That is a model and cast repair piece for the upper bearing support of an Edison Class M. You could file off the broken support, and bolt this one onto the bedplate as a repair.

Re: Anyone recognize this part?
MicaMonster's answer makes sense. This part came from a fellow that "made" a Class M. I'm not interested in making any facsimiles but I'd be happy to give this to someone that needs to make a repair. Jerry Blais

Good call, Wyatt!
Here's what the upper bearing support looks like on the machine. It holds the horizontal pulley:

I thought it was much smaller. Good eye, Wyatt!
