Well, thanks to you for your hints too, Steve. Calling out a few lines of really ancient jokes for identification is a long shot, but if there's anywhere online that an obscure question about a hundred+ year-old record might very well get answered, the TMF is probably it.

you are welcome, Cody, and I'm glad you were able to track the recording down. There may be a way to do a search like I did using an online database, but I sure don't know how. Thanks for posting the link to the recording. It's an interesting performance… although the words are satirical, there is nothing in the delivery to suggest that it is not a straight faced speech on a serious subject.
