This is interesting. Is that a Victor or RCA brand phonograph? It does look very much like an Orthophonic phonograph.

Per the advert in the CL listing, this is another product of the Charmaphone Co of Pulaski, NY.

The one I saw looked very much like a Credenza on the outside (though smaller in scale) but the horn was just a couple of angled boards. Pulaski has had a number of furniture factories over the years, middle grade stuff.

I love the cabinet! Its very ornate. It's a great price, and this would an interesting machine to have. The decal on the underside of the lid is pretty similar to the Orthophonic decal in style and shape. Bold move by that company :)

If it was anywhere near me I would snap it up at that price and fit a better horn.
I have an HMV157 horn taking up space in my workshop......

The seller apparently does not like being questioned as to condition :( He did respond he has not seen the crank, nor respond if any cabinet or veneer trim is missing. Perhaps someone gobbled it up. :)

First prize goes to anyone who knows where Pulaski, NY is located, without consulting a map. Hint: today it's known mainly for salmon fishing.

Well, I should probably be disqualified, since my brother used to live in Hastings, and worked in Mexico (NY).

You should also offer a prize for anyone who knows how to pronounce it: "Pull-ask-I." :)

Here in Scranton, we have statues on Courthouse Square for both Pulaski and Kosciusko. :D
