Paul Robeson

Paul Robeson died on this day in 1976, and I played a few of his records today to remember the great man.

Yes, a great baritone and a great political figure. I particularly admire his transformation of the lyrics to "Ol' Man River" from a song of resignation to one of rebellion. This of course he did later in life after making the song famous on Broadway.

Great artist, and his voice was made for the microphone, all his records sound excellent!
