Columbia Fiber Gear

Post by Phono-Phan »

I am working on my Columbia Grand Grafonola and discovered that the fiber gear is cracked. I have a new one but it is about 3/64" smaller in diameter. Does anyone know of a supplier for the slightly larger gear? Also, the teeth on the original are flat at the tip and the new one has teeth that come to a point. I have another old gear that is the same size and has the same teeth shape as the old one pictured. I can't use is because it is missing some teeth.

Have you tried Wyatt's Musical Americana? Here is a link to their catalog of Grafonola parts. They might have the gear that you are looking for.

Steve,
Thanks for the reply. I looked them up earlier today. I didn't see where they are available for calls on Saturday's. I will have to try on Monday. The new one I have pictured is from Ron Sitko and I have used them before on other Columbia machines with great success. It seems that this older gear is just a little bit bigger in diameter.
