Columbia Graphophone Grand

In addition to my request for pictures of an Edison Class M or E Concert, I now need pictures of a Columbia Graphophone Grand as well. Does anyone have one of these beauties, and might be prepared to let me have pictures of it for our little book for the CLPGS? I would be most grateful!

Keith;
I have a early Columbia Graphophone Grand (Serial number 41) that has the early style writing on the feedscrew cover. I would be happy to shoot some pictures if you need them. It currently is displayed with a 40" brass horn and a floor stand.

Dear Bill

That is very generous of you, for which many thanks. However I have been surprised at the reaction I have had, and I have the pictures I need already.

We hear of folk with our hobby who are unpleasant or negative, but the response I have had has been totally the opposite. It is wonderful to be able to ask, and receive, gracious help from total strangers. Thanks again to you, and to the TMF. It restores one's faith in human nature.

Bill I would love to see pictures here of your GG. I'm sure others would also. I think those machines look especially attractive set up with a large brass horn.

Bruce, here are some pictures of my GG. As you might see, there was a lock substituted for the release knob on the front door. When the antique dealer from whom I bought it first found it, it was locked with no key available. They had a locksmith unlock it and had a key for it by the time I saw it. As you know, when the front panel is locked, you cannot get the lid off. I assumed that perhaps this machine was used by an exhibitor back in the day and they put a lock on the lid to keep out prying eyes. Only speculation. The serial no. is 43, the early GG's having the hand written information on the feedscrew cover. Thanks for your interest
