Re: Deutche Grammophon question
It isn't the original horn and back bracket. By the way, I'm looking for a original back bracket for the gramophone.

Re: Deutche Grammophon question
Thank you once again, another very interesting image! Will try to write to the owner of the website you suggested and see if the reprints are still available.Starkton wrote:The border you show belongs to a slightly earlier version of the "Monarch II", see the drawing from the catalogue of July 1907 below.
You can get a reprint of the July 1907 catalogue here: http://www.sprechapparate.de/
Excuse me, what was/is the meaning of the word "chatulle"? I searched on several German-Italian and German-English dictionaries, but apparently couldn't find any reference.

Re: Deutche Grammophon question
The German root word is "Schatulle", in other words a small box of elaborate quality. Deutsche Grammophon wished to transfer the positive connotation of "chatulle" (an already outdated - intentionally chosen - spelling at the time) onto their gramophone cases.Marco Gilardetti wrote:Excuse me, what was/is the meaning of the word "chatulle"?
