Unfortunately, the C-150 also used a "150" horn: too large for the A-100 cabinet.Panatropia wrote:Too bad you don't live near me. And speaking of forty dollars.......

Didn't know that. Not yet familiar with the design subtleties of these machines.phonogfp wrote:Unfortunately, the C-150 also used a "150" horn: too large for the A-100 cabinet.Panatropia wrote:Too bad you don't live near me. And speaking of forty dollars.......

Well, that's too bad. I guess not being a DD collector shows...phonogfp wrote:The S-19 used a "150" horn, which is too large for the A-100 cabinet.gramophone78 wrote:You may want to keep your eyes on this. Not only will you get the parts you need (and more), but you will also get the 'lateral' attachment in order to play regular 78 records.

So I found a complete horn assembly for $63. Does that seem fair?

Re: Edison Diamond Disc antique store find
What size horn is it? In any event, it seems like a great deal for the seller. You didn't buy at $40. Does $63 sound better?
As I said before, if you were near me, you'd be getting it for free. There are hundreds and hundreds of Edison DD mechanisms laying around that no one really wants. These parts should not be expensive.
As I recommended earlier, you should contact experienced collectors in the St. Louis area to help you. I can assist you in this, if you wish.
I'm out of advice now. Good luck!

I guess I wasn't sure if the 100 sized horns were harder to findphonogfp wrote:What size horn is it? In any event, it seems like a great deal for the seller. You didn't buy at $40. Does $63 sound better?

If you are missing just the horn, you should be able to get it for free or close to that price. As others have said, be patient.Deppizzymo wrote:So I found a complete horn assembly for $63. Does that seem fair?
Regarding the reproducer, I'd suggest finding a nickel one that looks cosmetically good. Assume the stylus is bad and it needs a rebuild. Then have it properly rebuilt.
Be patient and you'll find everything you need fairly easily and inexpensively. The grill could be the most challenging and most expensive part.

George; I normally would have responded sooner, but I am currently down in Florida trying to find a little warmer climate than St. Louis. I have not been on the computer as much as I normally would. Alex, George is correct. There are several collectors here in St. Louis that are always willing to help any fellow collectors. If you wish, you can PM me through the Forum. Welcome to the Forum, you will find many generous people here.
