Columbia BS on eBay

Post by Crank_it_up »

It only appears to be missing a few parts. I do plan to bid, if it doesn't get too crazy, or is it to late, did crazy already happen?

It's rare to find them in such pristine condition.

To add insult to injury, its just an Edison horn, not correct for the machine. Other than that, just a little spritzing up correct? ;)

I don't see any coin mech parts or the horn stand, marquee, reproducer, relay tube or other key BS unique small parts. What remains appears to be mostly parts you could get from any type B. It does appear to have the BS winding system though.

This is very rare, probably why most collectors don't recognize it. This is the mail order only kit form that has never been put together. :o

I wonder if John D. has seen this horn, because if I win this auction he's my guy for this easy restoration. Why are there so many bids already? I need a few parts off this jewel, please stop bidding! This will be fun to watch. :geek:

It could be restored, but the mech would have to be submerged in Kroul for a month.
Looking closer, there is most of the return mechanism. Many of my cylinder machines were in this kind of condition when I got them, and they were restorable.
