Now, that's the spirit!
Someone wanted to be able to "do it all" with their humble Hepplewhite.
I hope someone picks it up and gives it some love!
The gold hardware on it is interesting.

Re: Edison H-19 with LP attachment on UK eBay
This machine has a seemingly unusual NICKEL plated reproducer (#LG 12037), and a screw-on-to-the-motor-plate single reproducer holder present;(thinking of you, George
).
These two items seem to be fairly scarce, and would not have been originally installed on the H 19. I believe they were obtained through a factory "upgrade" kit sold by the Edison Company; the kit was publicized on the last page of their "What the Critics Say" brochure (form No. 4865--50M--4-27; dated April, 1927). The promotion expounds this "marvelous [LP] achievement", and urges present owners to, "...ask to see the attachment that converts present Edison instruments into the Long Playing variety at a surprisingly low cost."
I would love to know what that "surprising low cost" may have been.
When the kit was installed on this H 19 is an interesting thought; it certainly looks as if it's been there a long time (and in the UK, no less, HOW VERY INTERESTING!).

Yes - I'd like to have that clamp-on holder for the LP Reproducer!
The LP kit included a second mainspring for those machines that weren't originally equipped with two. I wonder if this Hepplewhite has that second mainspring installed...

I wish I had asked for a photo, but it didn't cross my mind at the time.phonogfp wrote:Yes - I'd like to have that clamp-on holder for the LP Reproducer!![]()

Yes it did have the second mainspring installed George. I asked the seller. whoever purchased this originally, or upgraded wanted the full boat! Helluva lot of motor for a Hepplewhite!
