VV 1-70 with Victrola 4 soundbox

I guess its personal preference but I have always liked the VV 170. Way back before I knew better I had one but at that time no one was much around that knew how to work on them including me. So it was sold off. I did have a lousy time with a Victor #4 reproducer as well, but people tell me a good one can be quite satisfactory when restored properly. Mine was very dull sounding..

I would lean towards the table top XI. It would be far harder to replace then the 1-70.

I would also keep the VV-XI table top, because I like the older machines. I have never heard a VV 1-70 though, so not sure if the sound quality is that much better.

I actually like the VV 1-70 as it is a great player, and quite loud. Plus I like the cabinet design.
