For sale is this Oak Edison C-150 Diamond Disc Phonograph with Records. This machine runs well and sounds pretty good, but in my opinion could use a new stylus. There is veneer loss on both sides and back (see photos). $75.00. Pick up in Peoria, IL or can deliver to Union for free. Great starter machine.

I have always wondered why a lot of these upright oak machines have veneer loss near the bottom mainly on the sides? It seems to happen on many brands with oak veneer cabinets. I had that issue with my oak Silvertone and my oak Victrola also....

I think it as a lot to do with veneer tending to loosen at the bottom anyway where the sawed edge may not be well sealed and then having been lifted and carried, set down many times since the 20s and more carelessly so as time went on.briankeith wrote:I have always wondered why a lot of these upright oak machines have veneer loss near the bottom mainly on the sides?
